Spectro Coating Corp is one
of the world’s leading manufacturers of flocked rolled goods. We have been manufacturing for 20 years, and our team
brings over 200 years of combined experience to the flocking business.
What is Flock? - Flock is fibers cut into small particles. The fibers can be natural or synthetic.
These fibers can be cut randomly, where the length of each fiber is not the same, or they can be cut precisely, allowing the
each fiber to be the same length. Spectro take these small cut fibers and adheres them to a surface using an adhesive. We
use mechanical and static charge to keep them aligned. The result is a material with a pile surface.
We can flock materials in a variety of manners.
These include a surface that is 100% covered or printed. We also have the ability to emboss patterns into the materials.
There are a number of fibers available including
nylon, rayon, polyester, cotton, and acrylic. We are not limited to these fibers, and have experimented with other fibers
including bamboo, Kevlar, Basofil, and PTFE.
Most of our adhesive systems are water based acrylic systems, but we have used a variety of other systems that are
meant for a certain end use. We only use water based system in our manufacturing process.
By taking the different attributes of the base material,
the adhesive, and the flock fibers you can come up with a specialized material for different end uses.

up to the imagination.
