PVC, Urethane and Other Medical Films - A Softer Touch

Flock coating on PVC, urethane, and other medical films brings a soft touch to the material.

Flocking used in inflatable mattresses to bring a soft fabric touch to PVC and a non slip surface. It does not feel wet in humid conditions. It stretches with the material and is durable. It is easy to weld and also molds easily.

For medical applications, flock can be made with anti microbial additives, for added benefits. The flock fibers can absorb and hold liquids preventing run off. It can also capture fluids for testing. The advantage of flocked swabs over traditional specimen collection swabs is that flocked swabs have the ability to collect and release more of the specimen material without degrading the viability of the sample material.

Flocked medical products cover a wide range of applications including specimen collection, physical therapy aids, posture aids, and even long term preventative care as in inflatables for those needing to avoid bed sores in prone or sitting positions.

Flocking directly on the film provides a composite that is one piece...no need of laminating another fabric to the film.

Fibers can vary depending on end use and feel from cotton, rayon, acrylic to nylon. Colors are unlimited as we dye our own fibers.
